Forklift Operation Support
Forklift trucks are indispensable for warehouses as they are the core component of logistics. However, skilled people are required to operate these trucks as novice drivers often cause accidents. Therefore, this study aims to build a support system for the forklift truck to assist novice drivers while also making the entire warehouse smarter. We aim to develop a human-friendly system by appropriately integrating a wide range of technologies, such as recognition algorithms to identify the situation in the warehouse, human-computer interaction technology to convey information to the driver, and the development of a warehouse environment simulator and linkage with forklifts using the robot operating system. This study is in collaboration with Komatsu Ltd.
